Meet Gwendolen Wilder

“Kickbutt Survivor” • Author • Bible Bestie
Hello Superstar, I’m Gwendolen (call me Gwen)…
I’m a Christian, Prophetic Encourager, Kingdom Mentor, Bible Study Bestie, Published Author, Certified Business Strategist, Certified National Media Expert, USAF Veteran (21 years), proud mama of one amazingly talented son, and our pup babe—a miniature schnauzer who’s having a ball in Heaven.
In addition to writing books, creating journals, and leading Bible studies, I’ve guided key corporate leaders and participated in guest speaking since 2008. Yeah, I stayed busy… LOL!
As a certified business coach, I founded a 35K+ international Impossible to Possible Women community, where I helped women turn their awesome ideas into profitable businesses they loved—just like I did!
Until God told me to close my business in 2024 and rebrand in 2025 as a Bible Bestie, helping Christian women journal and Bible study through struggles with God so they could find His peace.
Bridging the Gap Between Abuse and Business
When I was a business coach, I bridged the gap between abuse and business by creating signature coaching programs, masterminds, and membership opportunities focused on abuse, self-awareness, and business for my Faithful Wilder Tribe of followers on Facebook, Instagram, my blog, and email.
I co-authored a book with an international bestselling author through the National Workplace Bullying Coalition:
Stand Up, Speak Out Against Workplace Bullying: Your Guide to Survival and Victory Through 23 Real Life Testimonies.

The coalition collected stories from people who successfully navigated workplace bullying.
Our book includes true stories about extraordinary experiences with workplace bullying, how targets navigated those experiences, and how they ultimately overcame them.
Our goal is to help other bullying targets discover tools and principles they can use in their own lives.
Our stories are filled with emotion, vivid images, and paths toward resolution.
But I’m most recognized for referring to myself as a “Kickbutt Survivor” of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.
This is a term I created back in 2015 when I left my abusive environments—at home and at work.
Keep reading to hear my story and learn why I started the It’s OK to Tell My Story Movement.
Why Did I Start This Movement?
It’s OK to Tell My Story Movement
I started the It’s OK to Tell My Story Movement based upon my personal experiences of domestic violence, sexual assault, and workplace bullying.
Once I realized it really was OK—and safe—to tell someone what happened to me, I could get help because they believed me and become successful after the abuse.
I wanted to help others find their way out, experience freedom… and stay out!

My Story…
From the age of eight years old, I experienced molestation and sexual assaults from family members and schoolmates.
While serving in the USAF, I was sexually assaulted by a co-worker during a deployment.
Over the span of 20 years, between two different marriages—traditional and common law—I experienced domestic violence: psychological (verbal and emotional), physical, financial, and sexual.
The final assault incident that changed my life was an incident of being choked by the hands of someone I loved, tried to love, and wanted to love…
For Many Years, I Felt…
Ashamed, embarrassed, humiliated, alone, angry, betrayed, stressed, and so much more.
I lost my home, business, money, friends, and family relationships, and had various medical visits along the journey.
I thought everything that happened to me was my fault.
I thought I must have done something to deserve it.
I felt God had abandoned me and that this was the best version of life I could expect to live.
Even after I received help from the police, attorneys, abuse programs, and others, one thing remained consistent…
I always felt alone, unaccomplished, and misunderstood.
I didn’t know how to love, trust, or exist in a healthy intimate relationship—or how to have sustainable friendships with family, friends, or business associates.
Sound familiar?
But… I Survived!!
Because I survived all of that “Hot Ass Mess,” as I call it, I started referring to myself as a Kickbutt Survivor because I fought my way out—kicking, literally, in some instances.
I wanted to create a better life for myself and my son, have my own financial independence, and help spread awareness about the evil of abuse.
In other words, I wanted to be in control of my life and not allow the abuse to control me any longer.
It wasn’t easy, and it took years to leave my abusive environment.
Living as a survivor of abuse is a daily struggle, with good days and bad days.
As you can see, here I am years later—highly successful in my professional life, increasing my personal finances, volunteering to help stop abuse, encouraging my son to find his dreams, and even having fun dating.
It doesn’t mean the triggers don’t occur.
It means I discovered how to take control so I could Live, Laugh, and Love.

And Now… I Kickbutt Doing Just That!!
But How Did I Become a Kickbutt Survivor…
Tell Me More About Your Backstory 🍿
I Didn’t Start This Sistahood Because I Had It All Together!
I started it because God told me to—and because I was a whole beautiful mess while obeying Him! 🤪
After two divorces, sexual assault, domestic violence, heartbreak, anxiety, and seasons when I felt spiritually dry even while loving God with everything in me, I found myself journaling through tears, depression, and whispering:
“Lord… what am I even doing?”
One day I sat with God and said:
“Before I ever date again, I want to know: What is love as You intended it? And why do You love me the way You do?”
And the Lord gently told me:
“Daughter, stop spiraling and focusing so much on being single and start surrendering.”
To study His Word like my life depended on it—because spiritually, it did.
And THAT is how my Girls Trip to Peace™ spiritual journey was born.
I started journaling through every fear, every overthinking moment, every lonely night, and every “God, I’m tired” whisper.
What began as my private God Chats back on the farm, in journals throughout life, car cries, and road-trip pit stops eventually became the blueprint for the Girls Trip to Peace™ Bible Study Method—a Holy Spirit-led process to help women go from spiritually exhausted to surrendered and filled with God’s peace. 💖📖🕊️
Let Me Keep It 100% Real...
I’ve been where you are.
And I’m still walking with God through life’s challenges every day.
I spent years chasing success, approval, love, and doing all the right Christian things, yet still felt overwhelmed, unworthy, and spiritually empty—reading my Bible but not truly resting in God.
If you’ve ever felt stuck, disconnected, or like your faith is dangling by a thread, this journey is for you.
No fake fixes.
No fluff.
No promises that everything will change overnight.
Just Jesus.
I Don’t Just Teach Bible Study...
I walk women through their struggles WITH God—not after the struggle ends.
I guide them through journaling and Scripture in ways that build understanding and obedience.
I help women move from panic-praying toward praying from God’s peace rather than fear.
And for Christian female entrepreneurs, I teach how to align business with Kingdom principles rather than worldly pressure or hustle culture.
This isn’t just a devotional or cute Bible time.
It’s a faith walk with God receipts! 💖
How My Journey Unfolded 🕊️
2017
My First Bible Study Leadership Experience
My church in San Antonio asked me to lead a Bible study for women experiencing domestic violence. As a survivor myself, I taught them about having Unshakable Hope despite real-life struggles. This was my first taste of becoming a Bible Bestie.
2019
My Spiritual Peace Journey Deepened
After my second divorce, which lasted six months, my spiritual peace journey truly began.
I surrendered my fears, pain, dreams, and control.
I committed to studying God’s Word daily.
I told God:
“Sir… I know You have more for me. I’m ready to listen.”
2020
Quietly Sharing Girls Trip to Peace™
God told me to begin sharing my Girls Trip to Peace™ studies privately with my business clients.
2023
The Call to Surrender Everything
God told me to prepare to shut everything down at the end of the year:
- My lucrative business
- My dating life
- My brand deals
- My growing audience
And go all in on what He gave me.
Yes, I cried all day.
But obedience brings clarity, even when it hurts.
2024–2025
Closing One Chapter and Beginning Another
I closed my former business in 2024 and rebranded in 2025 around my calling as a Bible Bestie. The Girls Trip to Peace™ Bible Study Method became part of my daily walk with God—and now something I share with other women.

What I Really Do for Women Every Day 🤍
Sure, I help women Bible study through struggles.
But what I really want is to help them:
- Reconnect with God when they feel spiritually lost.
- Seek the Holy Spirit’s guidance through journaling and Scripture.
- Build consistency in their walk with Christ.
- Surrender fear, stress, and overthinking to God’s truth.
- Develop spiritual habits grounded in Scripture and prayer.
Because God’s peace isn’t found only after the struggle—it can be formed inside the struggle.
My Mission as a Disciple of Christ ✝️
God gave me one assignment:
Help spiritually thirsty women study His Word THROUGH their struggles—not just after the breakthrough.
I lead with grace.
I teach with obedience.
I share with humility.
I show my weaknesses so others can see Christ’s strength.
This journey isn’t about perfection.
It’s about surrender, trust, repentance, obedience, transformation, and deeper intimacy with God.
